Hard-wired to believe in God

The question was, "What do you guys think about this article?"

I would actually say I'm rather ambivalent about it. Whether the research has any validity or not is open to question. If the research regarding specific brain activity associated with "religious" behavior has returned meaningful results at all, it would be difficult to know what the meaning is. "The Preacher" did say "God has made everything appropriate in its time. He has also set eternity in their heart, yet so that man will not find out the work which God has done from the beginning even to the end." Eccl 3:11 NASU One could argue that there is a compelling indication in human history as well that mankind has an innate craving for the divine or inherent curiousity about the spiritual. Perhaps the research described in the article supports that idea, though it doesn't offer anything particularly helpful as to origin or establish anything definite as to cause and effect.

I have a feeling, as these things often go from a mechanistic perspective, that the next step in reasoning is to suggest that some people will be genetically more inclined to religion and others less so. A likely conclusion, but one I would consider highly dubious.
