My friends and brethren in Christ Jesus,
Our weather is doing good now and hopefully no more typhoons. Our brethren in the provinces that I visited are now busy on harvesting their crops. They are still hoping that they can harvest some although their crops were hit by the continuous rains and typhoons come to our country. God still good, because He allows us to be tried on various trials and hardship. We pray we can be refined like the gold passes through the fire. Thank you for your love and prayer and support, your concerned to us makes really a big difference. Thank you.
October 30 to Nov 2, my family was with me in visiting our brethren in Luna La Union, this is the birth place of my wife. We took advantage with this date because it is holidays. Our brethren in Luna Church are healthy serving the Lord. Most of them are fisherman and they live by the riches of the Ocean beside them. They are not so much affected by typhoons. I continue encouraged the brethren on their faith and their relationship to their family. As the bible says “honor your father and thy mother because; this is the first commandments with a promise” THAT IT MAY BE WELL WITH YOU AND THAT YOU MAY LIVE LONG ON THE EARTH”. This is a good principle to every Christian, sometimes we are very much active on going to the church service but we overlook our parents and our families. I encouraged the young ones to demonstrate their love to their parents while they are still alive because when the moment that they were already lying on the cadaver they can’t hear us anymore. We have a good bible study and we were encouraged by the word of God.
At Nov 2 @ 4:00AM we move to Pangasinan and attended their worship. My Elders requested me to do the bible study, I shared with them I Peter 4:7-19. One of my elders in the name of brother Segundo Agapito are still suffering for Kidney problem but he still continue and very active in the Lords work. Please pray for him, thank you. After our worship my parents prepared a good lunch for us before we depart back to Manila. My father (Hilario) still alive and kicking, we communicate by hand signal, because we can’t understand him. We arrived safe and sound in Manila at 8:00PM by His guidance and care.
Nov 5 – 7. Bro Arsenio (brother in flesh), Rey Palania (a Jehovah witnesses background) and I went to Ilagan Isabela. We drop by at brother Mar Bilgera house and his family prepared a good breakfast for us. After our breakfast, we proceeded to Manibang church; this is a new congregation with 5 members by the effort of brother Carlos Cabang. Brother Arsenio gave a good study about the “The Kingdom” and I shared also the “Faith Endurance”. After our bible study, one elderly brother donated a piece of land for their church building and another brother said he will take care for the woods. Their needs are hollow blocks, cement, gravel, sand and 20 pcs of Galvanize iron for the roofing. In my calculation they need about $600 to $700 to finish their building. Brother Mar Bilgera, Ron Cabante, Carlos Cabang, Edgar Licodine and I agreed that we will start to erect the building on April. We will work from 7:30AM to 4:00PM then 5:00PM to 6:00PM we will do door knocking and at 7:00PM we will start the preaching. If anybody who wants to help this new congregation, we will appreciate it so much. When we are about to go home, one sister in the name Felomina Viernes are suffering illness from her eyes, head, ears and pain on the neck. Since that they don’t have any means for check up and medicine, she tried to ignore it, but when I have the opportunity to talk to her, she tried to cover her left face. I asked her if anything that I can do for her and she said I have severe pain on my eyes, ears and head. So, I decided to bring her to the hospital for check up. We travel almost 30 minutes to reach the hospital. The findings of the doctor, she has “herpes zoster ophthalmicus”, I don’t know this kind of sickness but according to the doctor, there is a possibility that she become blind if she will not put medication on her eyes. Thank you for your help my brethren, the money you gave to me is a big help to our brethren who are very much in need. So, I pay her medical bill and we bought the three kinds of medicine that she needs. Our sister was very thankful including her family. I told her that she thanks the Lord Almighty. Before we proceeded to Minallo, we visited the family of our late brother Rick Paez. I know brother Tom, Louis, Charles and Jay know this brother. Brother Rick Paez was killed by vehicular accident. His wife (sister Rose) was very please to see us. We greet one another with joy and recall some good experience that we have when her husband still alive. She wanted us to stay longer but we need to move because our brethren in Minallo church are already waiting for us. At exactly 7:00PM we arrived in our destination and we start immediately our service. We have a big attendance because some brethren from other churches came to meet and study with us. Brother Arsenio shared with them “The Importance of Obedience” and I back him up when I share also “Trusting God”. We concluded at 10:30PM, Brother Erick Barillo offered his home for our rest.
Nov 6. At 6:00AM we have a good breakfast prepared by Barillo family. We proceeded to Sipat congregation located in Cauyan Isabela. Exactly 9:00AM brother Arsenio shared with them “the importance of Heb 10:25” and I shared also “Suffer with Christ”. We have a good bible study because there are some brethren who asked pertinent question. One thing that I was notice and encouraged was the brother and sister who were both blind but very active in church activities. Our blind brother even gave a word of prayer in our closing, my heart was rejoicing. Our brethren prepared a lunch for us even we know that their situation was not so good because of the effect of typhoons passes by in their areas. They shared what they have and Arsenio and Rey (our companion) was surprise with the attitude of the brethren. The church meeting was in the house of sister Luz Dulay (They family of Dulay and the brethren were very thankful to brother Vern Smith, you asked bro Vern why?) After our lunch we were requested to visit brother Eugene Awingan, he is also a preacher of the church of Christ in Cabaruan Cauyan. We discuss about unity because they wanted to be in friendly or even have a fellowship with us. Bro Eugene was graduated from Philippine Bible Colleges, before they don’t want to fellowship with us, because they thought that a preacher/Evangelist MUST graduated from Bible colleges, but this time he change his mine and we are very thankful to God for His mercies and Love. Brother Jun Gavina was with us and his family, after our visit to brother Eugene, we proceeded to Dammang church. This is the hometown of brother Tony Carabbacan. We just greet the brethren and stay for a short time to talk with the brethren and encourage one another. We can’t do teaching in Dammang because we need to move to Quirino province (about 2 hours travel) since our brethren in thereat was already waiting for us. Two churches join together to study with us (Jagay church and Debol church) bro Jerry was the one caring the Jagay church and Jinny Chris is Debol church. Our brethren prepared a dinner for us but we arrived late. They asked me if we will eat first before we have the study. I asked Arsenio and Rey if they are hungry already but they told me that they prepared to have dinner after the service. We started the bible study at 8:00PM and we finish at 11:20PM. This time brother Arsenio shared with them “Gain the whole world but loss your soul”, this is a great and timely study. I shared also “The Beauty in Heaven”. When our brethren say goodnight and they depart, Jinny’s wife (Flora) immediately prepare food for us. I am hungry but I am happy to encourage our brethren.
Nov 7, after our breakfast, Jinny said that I need to encourage the congregation in the city jail located close to their home. So, we proceeded in the jail house. The policemen are very courteous to us and they even greet us “good morning PASTOR”. We have a big crowd in the city jail. Most of them are hard criminals and they have many tattoos in their body. Brother Arsenio shared with them a lesson which I believed the audiences were benefited and encourage. Arsenio discussed with them “Hope in Christ Jesus” after Arsenio speaking I continue the same subject because I know they need so much Hope in Christ. While I am speaking, I can see their eyes with hope. They understood the hope that they have if they will trust the Lord, after my preaching I heard a big voice saying, “Amen brother!” We embrace one another and I know they were encouraged by the word of God. My heart rejoice when one of them pray for our safe journey back to our family. Could you imagine my brethren, criminal praying and making petition to God in our behalf! Truly God is not a God of favoritism, God is God to everyone! The prison ministry is a collective effort of the brethren in Quirino province, bro Jinny Chris, bro Jerry and bro Robert Domingo.
At 11AM, we say goodbye to Jinny and his wife Flora, bro Robert, bro Jerry and the brethren. We drop by in Umingan to visit again my father and arrive about 5PM. I know my father was so encouraged when he learned that Arsenio and I working together in the ministry of the Lord. One of our elder Max Dumaguing came over to our house to listen also to the good things that God had done through us to our brethren in Isabela and Quirino. He rejoiced with us.
Bro Arsenio and I were recognized by our home congregation as their Evangelist. Our Elders are behind on our effort in serving Him and His people. They can’t afford to support us financially but they support us by their prayer, love and concern. Bro Arsenio was enjoying working with me and he desire to go with me on my schedule on different areas. I need to admit also that bro Arsenio is a big help on my preaching; he is talented and spiritually matured. He never go to any colleges to have a degree, he just stay in the church and he was molded by the word of God by the effort of my father and my elders in Resurreccion church. I am appealing brethren to please help bro Arsenio on his fare and expenses in coming with me, I am not complaining going around alone because God is protecting me but I think I need a “buddy” to work with hand on hand as what the bible encourage us to do (Ecc 4:9-12). We are planning to go two trips from various churches that are inviting us. In my own understanding he needs about $400 monthly as of this date he is receiving $750 quarterly from bro Delbert Deister, this money was used for the needs of his family especially as of this time two of her daughter was now in colleges. Some money he uses also for his local works in his area. He is trying to set an order to Macabebe church wherein three candidates are on the process of their training. Bro Arsenio is also helping Candelaria church. Our brother Arsenio is a hard working servant of the Lord, he is also praying that someday he can have a second hand vehicles for his work. Sometimes he can’t go on time of his appointments for bible study because transportation in his place is limited. In some occasion he tried to walk just to reach out his schedule. I am praying to God and appealing to all of you my brethren to help bro Arsenio in his need for the ministry of the Lord. You can ask brethren like bro Tom Woody, Charles Fry, Louis Garbi, Dan Huff, Vern Smith, Jay Graham, Rick Parks and Mike Kirby about brother Arsenio dedication and work. Second hand jeep with a running condition is about $4000 including registration and insurance. Your help in our country was a significant for the growth of His churches and some sinners are converted. Please consider this request, thank you.
Our companion who joins us in our journey in Ilagan Isabela was comforted by the love of the brethren and he was encouraged to read more the bible. Please include him in your prayer because when we depart each other, he made a statement that he wanted to become a Christian. His background was Jehovah witnesses because his parents are members on that denomination.
Churches that we visited in Ilagan and Quirino requested us to help them to buy medicine for their needs. Some preachers from other church who attended our meeting do the same. We did not visit all the churches who requested us to visit them due to lack of time but we promise to them that we will be back very soon.
Here are the churches that we distributed medicine like anti-biotic, cold, flu, for children and diarrhea, muscles pain, headache, cough and some anti- malaria: 1. San Filife church – bro Mar Bilgera
Arsenio and I were planning to go to Palawan this coming Nov 17 to 20. Please remember us always in your prayer, may the Lord of Host will be please in our effort in serving Him and bring more souls in His Kingdom.
Knowing God in my life is the best treasure that I have. Being in God’s family is the best journey that I experience. Thank you my brethren for your continuous prayer and help. Your help is not in vain and in due time we shall all reap.
God be with you all and love you always,
