For your consideration

I have a question or two for your consideration:

You begin a study with a young couple that is living together outside of marriage. They are very interested in the Bible and what is necessary for salvation. You can tell they are committed to each other and when you ask them if they have wedding plans they make it clear that they are “not ready” to get married? Finally, you convince them that baptism and obedience is necessary and they want to be baptized and begin attending worship services. When you bring up the topic of living arrangements, they make it clear that their “arrangement” is monogamous and disagree with your view that marriage is necessary to be in keeping with God’s Law. They say that another local church will baptism them and the preacher says that he doesn’t need to know all of their personal details and that God accepts all. They tell you that they really want to attend your church because they like your family and they are not fans of the contemporary band at the other church, but they just don’t agree with you on the marriage issue. They say that they don’t want to study anymore; they need to be baptized now.
What do you do?

If you couldn’t baptize them. How can the marriage issue be an issue of doctrine, if two churches (or two people) can view the issue in totally opposite ways?

If you would baptize them,
Do you believe their position about marriage? If not, Do you think God will overlook their situation?
