Very good, I wouldn't suggest that the mixing of fibers wasn't illegal under the Israelite law, but it wasn't listed as a capital offense, nor was planting two kinds of crops. Many violations of the law were punishable with fines, or required sacrifice, restitution, or perhaps ostracizing from the community.

Also, leather is not a "carcass" which is referred to in Leviticus 11:6-8. Some interpreters might choose to extend the meaning to include cured leather, the Pharisees might have, I don't know, but that would be tradition, not commandment. When Israelites took leather in battle spoils, they were to purify it (Numbers 31:20) before use, but they were neither required to, nor capable of, determining the original source of the leather.

Also, by the way, the regulation about an eye defect (being nearsighted wouldn't qualify) was about the priests, the descendants of Aaron who presented the offerings at the tabernacle and temple, not about people bringing their sacrifices to the temple. That priest with a defect in his eye(s) could still be supported as a priest (21:22-23), but could not function in presenting the sacrifices.

Several of those regulations were for personal and community health, others for civil order in a particular cultural, physical and technological environment, still others were to impress a concept of holiness on the people, to set them apart from the cultures around them. Learning obedience and dependance upon God was part of the purpose.
