Not all denominations have a practice or rule of closing a prayer, "in Jesus' name, amen," or some closely similar phrase, but many do. It is a very common mode of ending prayer in most groups that are nominally Christian. For some scriptures and thoughts related to this idea, see The article for January 2001. Some thoughts on "why" pray "in Jesus' name" are included in the article. Some reasons why some might not... some people willfully exclude the name of Jesus in order to avoid offense (to Jews or Moslems or Buddhists). Others might refrain from such a formula, considering it unnecessary or redundant. Others might omit such phrases due to simple lack of information rather than any particular decision. Others might decline because they deny the deity and/or intermediary role of Jesus in bringing our needs to the Father. Perhaps others have other reasons.
