Question for Discussion
Posted by Craig Hensley - May 15, 2000 at 5:18:40pm:

We had a discussion class at services recently that brought up a difference of opinion. We are a very close group so the difference of opinion did not cause any negative feelings. However, it is an interesting question.

Did God and/or Christ ever show preference to any one, either a person or a group of persons?

So as not to sway any of you that want to respond, I will not tell you how I answered this question. I will follow with my thoughts after a few have taken a shot at the question

The answer to this question is not a matter of salvation, in my mind, but it does say a lot about ones personal view of God's dealing with mankind.

When God was getting fed up with the children of Israel over the golden calf in Exodus 32he wanted to wipe them out and start over with Moses. Seems a little preferential there to me. Moses wasn't perfect and we don't know too much about Zipporah.
