Any ancient find related to the Biblical text is always of some interest. The AP article linked below describes a recent find, a stone tablet that appears to date to King Joash's ninth century B.C. repairs of the temple. The article mentions some of the questions raised by and about the tablet, and the current level of authentication. One reference in the recent AP article, repeated in all of the versions of it I've seen, is to "carbon dating" which seems odd, since the item is a sandstone tablet, and the description indicates there isn't any significant organic material associated with it, beyond the microscopic (in the original article that broke the story). The popular media's treatment of science is often mysterious... The original article in Ha'aretz - Sensation or forgery? AP article -- Old tablet from King Solomon's Temple?
