Just to be clear, 'Jewish radio personality' was not my characterization of Michael Medved, it is part of the quote, with brackets, as presented. I almost omitted the bracketed description, but decided to leave it intact since some readers might not recognize the name at all. I suppose that since Medved was born a Jew and does in fact describe himself as an observant Jew on his website, in his speaking, and in his writing, the description seems apt. Perhaps he can be an observant Jew, and a radio personality, and thus a "Jewish radio personality" as described, whatever his politics. And perhaps he actually believes in right wing political and religious conservatism, and did even before it became "fashionable," and is not pandering. Surely it must be possible. His book Hollywood VS. America was published in 1993, so he's been on that bandwagon for quite some time. It's interesting too that Medved has a column on a site called Jewish World Review ( http://www.jewishworldreview.com/ ) so perhaps there are other Jews, even some Rabbis, who are on something like the same page, or at least willing to consider and discuss conservative thinking. There might not be a Jewish poltical monolith on the left or on the right, but instead some diversity of political and religious opinion among Jews. Perhaps. And again, I think that Medved became something of a national public figure initially, not by "pandering to the extreme right wing of Christianity", but by reviewing movies on CNN, in the NY Times, and on PBS "Sneak Previews" after Siskell and Ebert went commercial. His "renown" was first built on his career as a movie critic. That's my recollection, anyway.

Likewise, by the way, I described David Klinghoffer as a "Jewish author" because that is exactly how he is described in the header of the interview the quote came from.
