LW I was recently asked by someone about the appointment of Elders and Deacons. I know and understand the qualifications of these vocations. But their question was this, where does it state in the bible that the evangelist appoints these offices. Ya know what, I couldn't find a single verse. I saw examples of this practice (apostles and teachers appointing elders) throughout the new testament. I even had someone while doing research on this tell me that elders could appoint elders. I know learning of the Lord's work is a continual process, and if a man ever says he knows it all he is lost. Please email me with your contribution in my research.
