From my perspective, the piece by Chuck Colson is OK, the DNA analogy works, even if it's not terribly dynamic as written. Colson's piece is actually a transcript of a radio spot and it plays better in audio (go to the Breakpoint Archives link below and select the 10/31/2001 broadcast). The software/information encoding analogy has been used by several creationists to point up the absurdity of the "it just happened" view of the naturalism-materialism philosophy. It's a new variation on the old cosmological and design arguments for God's existence as an intelligent creator. However, the other side of the question about whether it's good, England as a culture is further down the road of secular materialism than the USA, and that's not good at all. Colson's question about existence wasn't incomprehensible, just not thoroughly fleshed out with surrounding information in his brief presentation. Perhaps folks unacquainted with the "creation-evolution" debate need more background to understand the reference?
