The Harry Potter stories (thus far) are set in a very secular world. I don't recall any reference to theistic religion, positive or negative, in any of the books. And it is correct that sorcery, witchcraft, divination, mediums, and all such are uniformly condemned in the Bible. There were people, like Balaam, who tried to use sorcery as a means of inducing Jehovah to behave as they desired. It didn't work (Numbers 22-24, 31:8, 2 Peter 2:15, Revelation 2:14). God did and does want a distinction made between his divine power and the contrivances of men (and demons).

God told Israel:
Deut 18:10-13 Let no one be found among you who sacrifices his son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead. Anyone who does these things is detestable to the LORD, and because of these detestable practices the LORD your God will drive out those nations before you. You must be blameless before the LORD your God. (NIV)
