I’m not convinced that the idea of communion is a ‘personal’ act that one person partakes in that provides special access or relationship to Jesus. I think that the intent is a group activity “the disciples came together to break bread.” I think that the focus of the local congregation is to be a church family so just like the Israelites sat down as a family for Passover to remember their deliverance, we are to gather as a family to remember our deliverance that was brought by Jesus death, burial and resurrection. Many times, there is a desire for someone to “make up” the Lord’s Supper if they missed the Sunday morning event that the entire family took part in. I don’t quite see the point in that so I don’t buy the multiple times a week thing. As for Wednesday or any other day, I pretty much agree with what Charles has said. It seems that Sunday was the main focus in more than one scripture and I can accept that. Still , I do see your point and it is an interesting question.
