There are times when the command to love your neighbor as yourself is very difficult. Currently I am in an english class, of which the focus is about misinformation in the news and how science is twisted by industry. Yet she would not consider the idea that evolution might be wrong, in spite of the facts of scientists who oppose it for a variety of reasons. It is supposed to be a persuasive essay, but she wouldn't hear of it as a topic, because evolution is a scientific theory, which is essentially an established fact, etc...
It is especially frustrating when they accuse Christians of being closed minded when they themselves are at least as guilty by not being willing to consider anything other than their own convinced opinion based on whatever they choose to believe.
I will grant this is only one person, and there are those who willing question everything around them, but it is frustrating to run into those who will not even allow questioning.
Love your neighbor as yourself, pray for your enemy, do good to those who persecute you. Hard words to live by.
