I agree that your presentation of what I have said it rather confusing. Part of that is because the comments were taken out of context, which tends to confuse things. Secondly, I feel that I am getting mixed messages about how one obtains salvation. Is it just by baptism? Or is it by acts? And even then, are these acts that are truly good? Or just good intentions? This was also from 502:
You can kill someone and be forgiven, but a sinless man who does not get baptized goes to hell? Something about the equation seems flawed. This agrees with my statement from 508. Heaven apparently is not for the good. You can do good all your life, time and time again, and you will not be allowed into Heaven. You can kill, or steal, or fail and any other rule that God gave, except for baptism. I definitely have trouble with that. I would hope anyone would. I am glad that all of you have obviously found someway to rationalize it, but I have not. Can you tell me of all the rules in the Bible, one as simple as baptism is the only one that is unforgivable to break? I could actually pray and say, Dear God, forgive me all my sins, accept me into your heart, and I would STILL be sentenced to eternal damnation. So which is it? Forgiveness? Deeds? Good Intentions? All of the above? We break the rules every day, as sinners, and we still get heaven. So why are we not forgiven again if we can never bring ourselves to be baptized? Even if we ask for that forgiveness! I am sorry I may seem confusing, but this whole concept is confusing. It often makes no logical sense. I am sorry that you think I am just seeking out targets, but I should have known that would happen. I made the mistake of even engaging in this conversation. You are set in a position that you will never change, which is a testament to your faith, but also very stubborn. Hopefully this clears some things up, but if not, feel free to ask.
